Healthy Mental Diet

When I say the word diet, I’m not talking about a short-term phase of restriction or quick fixes. I’m talking about a long-term lifestyle change. I’ve never been on a diet—what’s the point if you’re just going to go back to the same old habits? It’s about creating positive changes that truly support our lives and bodies over the long haul.

A healthy diet isn’t just about what we put into our bodies—it’s about what we feed our minds and lifestyles too.Years ago, I chose to step back from the constant stream of news and political propaganda. Some might see that as ignorance, but it’s a conscious choice to protect my mental well-being. I’d rather avoid compassion fatigue and the helplessness that often follows an overload of negative stories. The reality is, we all have the power to create our own lives and inspire those around us; that’s where our energy is best spent.

We’re careful about what we put in our stomachs, so why not our minds? It’s time more of us consciously choose what we allow in! Whether it’s mainstream media, social feeds, or platforms like X, it’s all marketing in one way or another, shaping our decisions—even the ones branded as “free speech.” And scrolling through other people’s seemingly “perfect” lives on socials, comparing yourself to them? Why do that to yourself?

Read articles and watch things that make your heart sing, make you smile, help you grow, or call you to action—not things that leave you feeling fearful or helpless.

Live life through your own experiences, see the world through your own eyes, and trust your own heart—that’s how you’ll see the world for what it truly is.

You create your reality. Feed your mind wisely.
